Pre-orders for Y Mabinogi – The Fourth Branch album are open

It’s the culmination of 10 years of creativity. A Journey I dreamed of decades ago, and finally, the last of the Y Mabinogi albums, each one telling one of the Four Branches of the Mabinogi, is nearly released (out on the 24th April). I have always loved these Welsh myths, but I couldn’t help but feel that they were always meant to be heard, not read, and after I wrote the song Cerridwen and Taliesin, I knew I could bring that dream to life.

There is an added dimension when you hear a storyteller tell a tale that they so obviously love dearly. There is also so much additional depth to the tales that can only really be fully understood by a Welsh speaker, and I wanted to bring those aspects to these albums too. Where I felt a part of the story could be better told through song, I let that part of the Bardic tradition come through.

When you get the album, for the first time you listen, treat it like a movie – give yourself 2 hours, uninterrupted, and let me take you on a journey. I know that some of you are planning to listen to all four branches in one sitting. I did that when I finished recording the Fourth Branch, and I can tell you, that’s quite a ride!
