Magic in Avalon

Here is a lovely video presented by the website Druidic Dawn taken at the Order of Bards Ovates and Druids ceremony on Glastonbury Tor at this year’s Summer Gathering.

Oh gods and goddesses this is sweet – and so wet! Why take from Christianity the ‘religious’ voice of seriousness and earnestness? A tone of misery in the voice? Surely, if druidic ritual, and druidry itself, is about anything it’s about life, celebration, the highs and lows, the truth? Life! Spare me the droning rite – I would not want to join that as a druid, let alone as a questing soul.
And I know for some folk it is serious, meaningful, profound.
Not my way, though! Bring on the living connection, celebration, the truth, the tears, the love, the anguish, the NOW!
Damh’s music is lovely as always – thank you.

For me I love the wild, dramatic, spontaneous, and life affirming rituals and moments, but I also love silence, reflection, meditation, peace, connection, and the stillness that can come from this kind of ritual. Each to their own 🙂

Btw, the music for this video isn’t from me.
