Welcome Oscar!

This is Oscar the 12 week old German Sheprador (Labrador/German Shepherd cross breed). He moved in with us on Monday.

It’s been just over a year since we lost our beloved Border Collie, Wizbang, and I still miss her so much. But the time was right for a new adventure, and what an adventure it’s going to be! After 12 years with Wizbang I’d forgotten how much work a new puppy is! But man he is such fun!

If you follow me on Twitter or Facebook be prepared for lots of photos as he grows into, well, quite a large dog!

    • He’s darling!!! :~> Congratulations!
I lost a cat a little over two years ago, and it took me a year and a half to get another one, myself – just couldn’t bring myself too, but I fell in love with my new one. Our animal friends are very important parts of our lives, and in many ways they keep us on our toes, that’s for sure!

  1. Bless him! He is two of my fave breeds combined. I’m sure he will grow up to be a fantastic family member and I’m also sure we can all take as much Oscar photo-bombing as you can give us. 🙂 He’ll be a sensible grown up dog for a long time so just try to remember that when you are taking him outside into the cold for the hundredth time to see if he wants a wee yet, and enjoy the delightful puppy months as much as you can. 🙂

  2. I am so happy you have decided to bring another dog into your lives. Please feel free to share all the joy with us. We/I can handle it.

  3. Thank you! And Bronzewing, the going out in the cold thing for the hundredth time. That’s us, right now 🙂

  4. He is so gorgeous. I am sure he is going to break a few doggy hearts as he grown up.

They are pups for such a short time enjoy every little ‘accident’ and laugh about it.

  5. Ahhhh….Puppy Breath! I do remember the days of my husband and I racing to see who could get home first!
They grow up so fast………Enjoy your time.

  6. Ah he’s so adorable! My family had a lab/German shepherd cross. They grow up to be extremely smart–ours learned how to open the front door. Cherish the time he’s young and then be amazed at how wise he becomes once he matures.

  7. Oh what fun a puppy is,yes and hard work as puppies, but heh they are so worth it. Truly man and women’s best friend. I am blessed with 2 papillons Stara& Merlin, now 3 yrs. I think it no coincidence that d o g …….reversed is g o d . So enjoy your dear Oscar.

  8. There is absolutely nothing better than a dog, puppy or senior! Enjoy every moment. Besides, all that going outside to potty gets you, well, outside – just where a Druid should be! 🙂

  9. He is absolutely gorgeous. I am sure that Oscar will be welcomed with open arms (and licked faces) by the Druid community. Don’t worry, he’ll soon be sleeping through the night, and if he’s anything like our dogs, taking up most of your bed too!

  10. He is beautiful! We had an alsation golden lab cross, our beloved Dino – he was the most loving fourpaws! And he grew really big so be prepared! He was just the same colour as Oscar
